Job summary

Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group is working with a growing residential design and construction business in Cork to hire an experienced Architectural Technician. You will work on bespoke home extensions, renovations and living spaces, taking ownership from concept through to completion.

Responsibilities include producing AutoCAD drawings for planning and construction, building 3D models, meeting clients, coordinating with design and construction teams, and ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Minimum four years' experience in residential architectural design.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and able to produce complete drawing packages independently.
• Experience with at least one 3D modelling program: SketchUp, Revit or ArchiCAD.
• Good understanding of residential construction and technical detailing.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; able to manage several projects.
• Fluent English; ability to commute to Cork office; own transport preferred.
• Experience with rendering software such as Enscape, Lumion or Twinmotion would be an advantage.

Are you an experienced Architectural Technician looking for an opportunity to work on bespoke residential projects where you can combine technical expertise with creative design? We’re working with a growing residential design and construction business specialising in high-quality home extensions, renovations and bespoke living spaces.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a varied range of projects, collaborating with design, interior design, estimating and construction teams from initial concept through to completion. This role would suit someone who enjoys the technical side of architectural design but is looking for more ownership of their work

Main responsibilities (Full Job Spec on request)

• Produce and update AutoCAD drawings for planning, tendering and construction.
• Create 3D models and visuals of houses, extensions, kitchens, bathrooms and outdoor spaces.
• Meet clients, record their requirements and obtain approval on key design decisions.
• Coordinate drawings with our design, estimating, interiors and construction teams.
• Carry out site surveys, take measurements and help resolve technical issues.
• Specify materials and finishes, keeping drawings accurate and compliant with building regulations and planning requirements.

Experience and skills required

• At least four years’ experience in residential architectural design or a similar technical role.
• Strong AutoCAD skills and the ability to produce complete drawing packages independently.
• Strong skills in at least one 3D modelling program: SketchUp, Revit or ArchiCAD.
• A good understanding of residential construction and technical detailing.
• Good communication and organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage several projects.
• Fluent English and the ability to commute reliably to our Cork office. Own transport is preferred.
