Qualifications

  • Qualified Architect or Architectural Technologist with 5+ years’ experience.
  • Fire safety and disabled access certification expertise essential.
  • Postgraduate or degree in Fire Engineering preferable.
  • Strong knowledge of BCAR, BCMS, and building regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Revit/BIM experience desirable.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills; proactive and adaptable.

  • Develop fire strategies for a wide range of projects.
  • Prepare and lodge Fire Safety Certificates and Disabled Access applications.
  • Lead fire strategy discussions with clients, contractors, and design teams.
  • Provide internal consultancy on building regulation matters.
  • Support BCAR compliance and produce fire inspection reports.
  • Supervise and mentor graduates on fire engineering principles.
  • Carry out design reviews, risk assessments, and quality checks.
  • Assist in preparing proposals, scopes, schedules, and budgets.

The Role

  • Develop fire strategies for a wide range of projects in line with relevant codes and standards (TGD Part B & M, BS 9999, BS 5588, NFPA, FM)
  • Prepare and lodge Fire Safety Certificates and Disabled Access Certificate applications via BCMS
  • Lead fire strategy discussions with clients, contractors, design teams, Building Control and Fire Services
  • Provide internal consultancy on building regulation matters for design and contract teams
  • Support BCAR compliance and produce fire inspection reports during construction
  • Supervise and mentor graduates on fire engineering principles and practices
  • Carry out design reviews, risk assessments, and quality checks on deliverables
  • Assist in preparing proposals, scopes, schedules, and budgets
