The Aquaculture Remote Classroom (ARC) has been developed by Bord Iascaigh Mhara as part of a European wide campaign, called #FarmedintheEU.
The aim of this EU initiative is to raise awareness about aquaculture in Ireland and to promote the benefits of eating, buying, and selling sustainable seafood. The ARC travels around Ireland, delivering aquaculture workshops to primary schools. In addition, the ARC has developed online learning resources to support the long-term sustainability and success of the project. The ARC frequently participates in industry and public outreach events that are aligned to the project scope such as food festivals/college science weeks.
