Job summary

Unum Ireland is offering an Application Security Internship through the Global Information Security Team in Carlow. You will work closely with Security Engineers, Software Engineers, and Platform Teams to gain hands-on experience in secure software development, cloud security, and DevSecOps practices.

The role provides exposure to SSDLC, vulnerability management, and security testing tools such as SAST, DAST, and SCA, with mentorship from cybersecurity professionals and opportunities to

Qualifications

• Understanding of software development fundamentals and programming concepts.
• Basic knowledge of Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or similar technologies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reviewing and triaging vulnerability scan results from application security tools.
• Support application security testing activities and secure coding initiatives.
• Help track security findings and remediation efforts across development teams.
• Assist with maintaining security controls within CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps processes.
• Support security reporting, metrics, dashboards, and documentation.
• Develop simple automation and scripting solutions to improve team efficiency.
• Collaborate with software engineers, platform engineers, and security professionals on security initiatives.
• Participate in security awareness and knowledge-sharing activities.
