Job summary

TOM People partners with a fast-growing technology business in Ireland to hire an Analytics Engineer to help build trusted data models and analytical solutions that drive real business decisions, including Galway.

You'll work with data, technology and commercial teams to deliver reliable insights and maximise value from data, building scalable data models and semantic-layer views for dashboards and AI tools across the organisation.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in analytics, data engineering, business intelligence or a similar data-focused role.
  • Strong experience with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake or Redshift).
  • Proficiency with Git.
  • Experience building modular, well-documented and maintainable data solutions.
  • Confident working with large datasets, complex joins and incomplete data.

Job description

We are working with a fast-growing and well-established technology business that is continuing to invest in its data capabilities.

As the business scales its modern data environment, they are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join the team and help build the trusted data models and analytical solutions which help solve real business problems.

You’ll work closely with data, technology and commercial teams to deliver reliable insights and help the business get greater value from its data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build scalable data models that solve real business and customer problems.
  • Develop and maintain semantic-layer views for applications, dashboards and AI tools.
  • Apply software engineering best practices across version control, testing, documentation and deployment.
  • Work with commercial teams to understand key metrics, KPIs and data requirements.
  • Partner with technical and product teams to ensure analytics are effectively surfaced within the company’s products.
About You
  • At least 3 years’ experience in analytics, data engineering, business intelligence or a similar data-focused role.
  • Advanced SQL. Strong experience with BigQuery or a similar cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake or Redshift. Comfortable working with Git, would be advantageous.
  • Experience building modular, well-documented and maintainable data solutions.
  • Confident working with large datasets, complex joins, anomalies and incomplete data.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to translate business challenges into practical data solutions.
