Job summary

SGS GAS site-based role seeking an analyst with piping and fitting knowledge and experience with welding, gas lines, and leak checks. You will perform helium leak tests, trace oxygen/moisture measurements, and particulate counts, while cooperating with clients and operations teams to finalize tools and analyses.

The ideal candidate has 2 years in a relevant field, is fluent in English, and can travel as needed. You will work under strict procedures and document results for client reporting.

  • Must operate hand tools with confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Understand piping and fitting specifications.
  • Perform quality walks and report on issues found.
  • Inspect welding coupons and witness pressure testing activities.
  • Complete Helium leak checking on ultra-high purity gas lines to meet specifications.
  • Develop knowledge of potential leak causes to isolate failures that affect integrity of leak checks.
  • Complete Trace Oxygen and Trace Moisture measurements with high-end analytical equipment and identify root causes of failures.
  • Complete particulates counts on process gas utility lines to ensure post-fabrication compliance.
  • Consult with client and operations for tool completion and analysis on new tools.
  • Develop understanding of testing standards and analysis methods.
  • Identify barriers and root causes of quality issues and performance gaps.
  • Maintain and update customer and company reporting documents.
  • Comply with SOPs and policies.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand piping and fitting specifications.
  • Perform quality walks and report on issues found.
  • Inspect welding coupons and witness pressure testing activities.
  • Complete Helium leak checking on ultra-high purity gas lines to achieve specification.
  • Develop a knowledge and understanding of potential leak causes to isolate failures preventing integrity of Leak checks.
  • Complete Trace Oxygen and Trace Moisture measurements using high end analytical equipment. Develop a knowledge and understanding of the same equipment to determine root causes of potential failure's.
  • Complete particulate count measurements on the process gas utility lines to ensure compliance post fabrication.
  • Consult with client and operations for completion of existing tools and preparation of analysis on new tools.
  • Develop and understanding of testing standards and analysis methods.
  • Assist in identifying barriers and root causes of quality issues and performance gaps.
  • Maintain and update customer and company reporting documents.
  • Comply with the company standard operating procedures and policies.
Desirable(s) & Qualifications:
  • 2 years' experience in a relevant field
  • Experience in mechanical trade is preferred - pipe fitting & UHP welding
  • Confident communicator & Good customer service skills
  • Punctual, motivated, and organised self-starter who is enthusiastic and conscientious about completing work on time and to a high standard
  • Demonstrate a positive approach to work and be able to work unsupervised and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and maintain a tidy work area
  • Must operate hand tools with confidence
The ideal candidate will also have:
  • Keen Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English
  • Professional, self-motivated with a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Willingness and ability to undertake substantial international travel to client sites as required

This position is site based and full training will be provided.
