Job summary

Excel Aviation Ltd is seeking a Driver to deliver, load and unload catering uplifts at Dublin airport, with a strong focus on safety and professional presentation. The role is customer facing, requiring clear communication and adherence to procedures in a secure environment.

Responsibilities include vehicle checks, loading to galley plans, security handovers, tachograph use, and routine fleet housekeeping. Weekend work and Garda vetting are possible prerequisites.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Class C Licence and CPC Licence.
• Digital tachograph knowledge and usage.
• Experience operating rigid trucks.
• Ability to drive both left and right-hand drive (International).
• Available to work weekdays and weekends.
• Be able to be Garda vetted and complete a 5-year background check.
• Ability to identify, anticipate and resolve problems.
• Ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines.
• Work autonomously and as part of a team with good communications.

Responsibilities

• Check your vehicle prior to use at start of shift.
• Load and offload meals from the truck and aircraft safely and promptly.
• Ensure vehicle is security checked and sealed before departing.
• Drive to the aircraft adhering to RSA, local and airport rules.
• Load aircraft per galley plans and company policies.
• Ensure security paperwork is handed over to crew and delivery note is signed.
• Return catering to the unit and offload to the relevant departments.
• Use Tachograph for every trip.
• Sign vehicles in/out when leaving/returning; keep fleet clean and fueled.
• Assist within other departments during downtime.

What's the purpose of role:

The primary function of the Driver role is to undertake the delivery, offloading and loading of catering uplifts to various aircraft at Dublin airport and when necessary, handover the flights to the airline crew. This role is customer facing and requires good communication skills and a professional image. It involves food and equipment handling in a secure environment where compliance with procedures is mandatory.

Who you'll deal with:

Internal; Operations and support functions

External; Airlines and other external stakeholders

What you'll be doing:

• Check your vehicle prior to use at start of shift.
• Load and offload meals from the truck and aircraft in a safe and timely manner, in accordance with airport safety rules, airline requirements and Company safety procedures
• Ensure vehicle is security checked and sealed by authorised person before departing to the airport with specified documentation.
• Drive to the aircraft adhering to RSA, local and airport rules and or law.
• Drive to aircraft as per your training, ensuring you do not deviate from it at any point.
• Load aircraft as per the galley plans and adhering to company policies.
• Ensure security paperwork is handed over to crew and the delivery note is signed.
• Return catering to the unit and ensure it is offloaded into the relevant departments.
• Ensure Tacho is used for every trip.
• Ensure all company vehicles are always signed out on leaving the unit and signed back in on return to the unit.
• Carry out housekeeping duties in line with maintaining the fleet, including cleaning, refueling
• Assist within other departments throughout downtime
