Job summary

ESW is hiring a Product Design Engineer to take ideas from concept through working experiences, using design, development and AI tools. You’ll be a designer first with strong UX/UI skills, comfortable with code and product environments, and use AI-assisted tools to prototype, test and ship close-to-design experiences.

You’ll collaborate with Product and Engineering to determine where design can go further, own problems from exploration to a working solution, and shape the Design Engineering role

Qualifications

• Strong product design experience across UX, interaction and visual design.
• Portfolio showing product thinking and UI design, including prototypes or experiences built with AI tools.
• Experience taking digital products from concept through to implementation.
• Experience with design systems, component libraries and reusable UI patterns.
• Understanding of coding concepts; full development background not required.

Responsibilities

• Take design ideas from concept through to working experiences, using AI to build, test and refine them.
• Develop a consistent approach to AI-enabled design workflows.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to determine where design can add value and where engineering is needed.
• Own design problems from exploration to a working solution.
• Work with clients and internal stakeholders to understand problems and explore solutions.
• Implement and refine UI directly in product codebases with engineering support as needed.
• Design and build reusable components and patterns for the design system.
• Improve existing products and test ideas in context.
• Share new AI-driven workflows with the Design team to prototype, test and build.
• Maintain high standards for usability, accessibility, interaction and visual design.
