Job summary

Cadence in Cork, Ireland, is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Stratus HLS AI/LLM Systems team. You will write production-grade C++ and Python, build AI-powered tools, and develop IDE tooling within a fast-moving environment.

This is an early-career opportunity to deepen software engineering skills while applying AI in HLS workflows. You will contribute to AI agent features, RAG pipelines, and LLM model evaluation, while collaborating with senior engineers and domain experts to design

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of experience, or Master’s with 1+ year of experience.
Solid programming skills in C++ with memory management and performance considerations.
Proficiency in Python for data processing and ML workflows.
Experience with LLM APIs and AI agent frameworks or ML tools.
Knowledge of data structures, algorithms and software design principles.
Ability to read specs and convert to modular implementation with testable units.

Responsibilities

Implement AI agent features leveraging LLMs within the Stratus HLS environment.
Build and test pipelines connecting Stratus tools and APIs for context-aware guidance.
Apply prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation techniques.
Develop and maintain VS Code extension components to surface AI capabilities.
Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews and design reviews.
Collaborate with senior engineers and domain experts on HLS workflows.
Stay updated on LLM research and prototype new techniques for the team.
