Position Summary

We are seeking an AI Adoption & Enablement Specialist to drive the evaluation, adoption, and continuous improvement of AI-powered tools across Bentley’s product development teams. The successful candidate will combine hands‑on technical understanding and testing with pilot program coordination, stakeholder engagement, user research, and developer enablement. This role will design realistic evaluations, assess the quality and value of AI‑assisted outcomes, and translate evidence from pilots into actionable recommendations for product, platform, and leadership stakeholders. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of software engineering, developer experience, responsible AI, and organizational change to help teams adopt approved AI capabilities safely, effectively, and at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain awareness of emerging AI‑assisted development capabilities and evaluate their potential relevance to Bentley’s engineering workflows.
  • Plan and coordinate structured pilot programs for AI‑assisted development tools, capabilities, agents, and workflows, defining objectives, hypotheses, participant cohorts, test plans, success criteria, schedules, and exit recommendations while recruiting, onboarding, and supporting volunteer participants from engineering, product, architecture, security, and other technical teams.
  • Act as a liaison between pilot participants, engineering teams, governance stakeholders, leadership, and internal or external tool providers.
  • Facilitate workshops, demonstrations, testing sessions, office hours, interviews, surveys, and feedback reviews.
  • Design and execute test scenarios based on representative software development workflows, including requirements, coding, review, testing, documentation, and delivery activities.
  • Use technical knowledge and professional judgement to assess the accuracy, relevance, usability, reliability, security, and productivity impact of AI‑generated outputs, validating them against established engineering, quality, privacy, security, and Responsible AI guidelines while maintaining appropriate human oversight.
  • Reproduce issues and document defects, limitations, inconsistent behaviours, risks, and opportunities for improvement with sufficient evidence for technical teams and tool providers.
  • Define and track pilot participation, adoption, satisfaction, quality, efficiency, risk, and value‑realisation measures, producing concise pilot summaries, adoption reports, usage insights, lessons learned, and rollout recommendations.
  • Collect and analyse qualitative and quantitative feedback, usage insights, and pilot metrics to identify adoption barriers, workflow challenges, and high‑value use cases, translating the findings into clear, evidence‑based recommendations for stakeholders and leadership.
  • Promote responsible and effective use of approved AI tools within Bentley’s governance, security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
  • Evaluate candidate AI tools and recommend those suitable for organisation‑wide adoption, assessing their effectiveness, strategic fit, implementation considerations, and estimated return on investment.
  • Develop and share practical enablement assets across teams, including best practices, prompt and agent patterns, evaluation checklists, user guides, demonstrations, training materials, reusable examples, and lessons learned, while recommending improvements to tools, processes, governance controls, training, and rollout strategies.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, evidence‑based decision‑making, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working with software engineering or product development teams in a technical, product, quality, developer experience, or enablement capacity.
  • Experience coordinating pilots, proof‑of‑concept activities, technical evaluations, user research, workshops, or training programs involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle practices, developer workflows, quality assurance, and modern engineering delivery.
  • Hands‑on familiarity with AI‑assisted development and productivity tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar platforms to support coding, testing, documentation, analysis, or other software engineering activities.
  • Experience with software delivery platforms and collaboration tools including Azure DevOps (ADO) and GitHub.
  • Ability to create structured test plans, scenarios, test cases, evaluation rubrics, acceptance criteria, and success measures.
  • Technical judgement sufficient to evaluate AI‑generated code, requirements, tests, documentation, analyses, or workflow recommendations for correctness, usefulness, and risk.
  • Experience collecting and analysing qualitative and quantitative feedback and converting findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder‑management skills, including the ability to explain technical findings to audiences with different levels of expertise.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple pilots and competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to responsible AI use, human oversight, data protection, security, and evidence‑based decision‑making.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with developer productivity, developer experience, engineering effectiveness, or internal platform initiatives.
  • Experience in technical program management, product management, quality engineering, or change enablement.
  • Understanding of Responsible AI principles, model limitations, evaluation methods, privacy considerations, and enterprise AI governance practices.
  • Exposure to agent‑based workflows and engineering (context, harness, graph etc), retrieval‑augmented generation, automation, or AI solution prototyping.
  • Experience defining adoption, quality, efficiency, satisfaction, or value‑realisation metrics and presenting insights through reports or dashboards.
