Job description

We are Kids Inc. We provide Early Years and Afterschool Care services. With an experience of more than 25 years in the childcare industry, we're one of the most established organizations operating geographically all over Ireland. Our goal is to extend children's daily learning by involving them in a wide range of sports and creative programs, with a strict 'No Screen Time' policy. With 4 Creches and Preschool services in Dublin, Kids Inc is also hosting over 60 'Onsite" Breakfast and Afterschool Care programs throughout the country.

Due to rapid expansion, we are looking for a new Area Manager to join our Team in Cork area. We are looking for kind, enthusiastic, and dedicated individuals that can lead a team and be ambassadors for Kids Inc Principles.

The Role:

  • Managing the daily operations of our after-school programs across different sites within your area.
  • Supporting and guiding a team of Managers and staff, making sure they feel well-trained and confident in their roles.
  • Helping to create fun, creative, and educational activities that meet the needs of the children.
  • Ensuring that all safety and safeguarding guidelines are followed.
  • Building positive relationships with parents, school staff, and local communities.
  • Visiting the different locations regularly to check your centres are meeting our high standards required.
  • Assisting with the staff recruitment and training strategy
  • Keeping track of budgets, resources, and any operational matters across the area.
  • Addressing any concerns from parents or staff in a caring and timely manner.
  • Overall responsibility for 5-8 Afterschool Centres

Your Profile:

Essential Skills And Experience

  • Previous experience in a leadership or management role, ideally in childcare or after-school programs.
  • Minimum of Level 6 Childcare qualification (or similar field).
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A genuine passion for working with children and commitment to providing a nurturing environment.
  • Fluent English speaker. Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable leadership style.
  • A proactive problem-solver who can manage multiple tasks while staying calm under pressure.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding practices and child welfare.
  • Garda vetting and reference checks required for child safety.

Desirable Qualification

  • A full clean and valid driver's license.
  • Confidence in the speaking the Irish Language
