Enable Ireland is an organisation that makes a real difference to the lives of children and adults with disabilities in Ireland. We are currently seeking highly-motivated Adult Services Support Workers to join our team in Meath Adult Services based in Bailis.

Contract Type: Permanent Part-time (0.46)
Contract Hours: 18 hours per week; Shift work including sleepovers, waking nights and weekends (hours per week negotiable)
Salary Scale: The current salary scale for this post is €32,639 to €39,499 pro rata per annum based on 39 hour week.

Overview Of The Post

Enable Ireland North East provides supported living to individuals with a primary physical disability. The service is based on partnership, dignity and respect. The Adult Support Worker will be responsible for assisting service users to maintain their independence by supporting and caring for them to allow them to live the life they choose in their local community.

Overview Of Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assisting service users to maintain their independence
  • Supporting and caring for service users to allow them to live the life they choose in their local community
  • Facilitating the person with a disability in all aspects of daily living

The successful candidate will have

  • Evidence of having completed a relevant Health Skills QQI Level 5 qualification or other relevant Health/Social Care qualification
  • Previous experience of working with adults with disabilities in the health care sector
  • Minimum of 1 year experience of delivering personal care in a health or social care context
  • Fluency in English essential
  • Hold a valid driving licence for within the state / jurisdiction with access to own transport in order to deliver services within the community

Desirable Criteria

  • Specific requirements relating to working with individuals e.g. previous experience of working with individuals with Acquired Brain Injury/Epilepsy and/or behaviours of concern
  • Experience Of Supporting People With Disabilities In Community Setting
