Job summary

The Health Service Executive (HSE) in North Dublin seeks a Clinical Psychologist – Adults to deliver high-quality assessment, intervention, consultation and support to adults within community and primary care services.

The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based psychological services to adults with a broad range of mental health, emotional, behavioural, cognitive, and complex clinical needs.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology or an equivalent recognised by the Department of Health.
• Minimum 1–2 years’ post-qualification experience working with adult populations.
• Experience completing psychological assessments and delivering therapeutic interventions within adult mental health, primary care, rehabilitation, disability, or community services.

Responsibilities

• Conduct specialist psychological assessments for adults with a wide range of mental health and cognitive needs.
• Develop and implement evidence-based intervention plans tailored to service users.
• Provide individual, family, and group interventions as required.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary assessment and intervention planning.
• Provide consultation and psychoeducation to families, carers, and professionals.
• Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with standards.
• Participate in case conferences, clinical reviews and meetings.
• Manage and prioritise caseloads within service demands.
• Complete clinical documentation and reports within agreed timelines.
• Maintain statistics and activity data and participate in service planning.
