Job summary

Allied Health/Nursing is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for the Rehab acute unit in Drogheda. The role focuses on person-centred assessment and intervention to promote independence and support timely discharge.

You will work within the MDT, maintain clinical records, and ensure CORU standards are met. CORU registration is required, and the post emphasizes collaboration with medical, nursing, and therapy colleagues.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy eligible for CORU registration.
• Current CORU registration required for the post.
• Knowledge of rehabilitation, ADL assessment, and functional independence.
• Effective communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ functional abilities, occupational performance, and rehabilitation needs.
• Assess activities of daily living (ADLs), including washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
• Develop and implement individualised treatment plans to maximise independence.
• Provide functional rehabilitation, adaptive techniques, and equipment recommendations.
• Educate patients and families on strategies to promote safety and independence.
• Participate in MDT meetings and discharge planning.
• Liaise with community services to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and treatment plans.
