This Work Placement Experience Programme provides participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. The programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance. Eligibility will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.

Job Description

As an accommodation assistant you will support and maintain a busy work environment and gain hands‑on experience in maintaining a high standard of hygiene within the hotel, resourcing all aspects of the accommodation area, and performing various housekeeping duties.

The placement will provide practical skills and knowledge in the following areas:

• Food storage and food service
• Hygiene management
• Stock management
• Industry‑standard protocols and procedures

You will be trained and mentored in:

• Maintaining a high standard of service provision
• Appropriate use of materials and equipment
• Maintaining hygiene conditions of the area and related areas
• Minimising health & safety risks while undertaking duties
• Reporting defects or hazards on‑site to management
• Adhering to good practice with regard to hygiene, health and safety

Training & Accreditation

This is a training and work‑experience opportunity with no prior experience required.

Accredited training will include a QQI Work Experience Module (20 hours accredited) and 40 hours of on‑the‑job training.
