Job description

Jejakin is looking for a dedicated and field-oriented WASH Field Officer to support and scale our efforts to improve water access, sanitation, and hygiene in underserved communities in West Java. This role is vital in ensuring that communities not only have access to clean water but are also equipped with the knowledge and tools to use, monitor, and maintain it sustainably.

What You’ll Do:

• Coordinate and implement WASH-related field projects, including clean water infrastructure development, sanitation facilities, and hygiene promotion programs.
• Conduct community needs assessments and water quality testing.
• Collaborate with local stakeholders, including village leaders, schools, and health workers, to co-design sustainable solutions.
• Facilitate training and awareness-raising sessions on hygiene practices (e.g., handwashing, household sanitation).
• Facilitate training for local communities on monitoring water sources and maintaining water distribution infrastructure (e.g., piping systems, tanks, filtration units).
• Monitor project implementation, ensure compliance with WASH standards, and contribute to regular field reporting.
• Identify risks or challenges in WASH delivery and propose practical, community-based solutions.

What We’re Looking For:

• 3–5 years of experience in WASH programming, water infrastructure, public health, or community development.
• Educational background in environmental engineering, public health, civil engineering, or a related field.
• Familiarity with WASH standards (e.g., Sphere), participatory approaches, and local government processes.
• Field-ready and culturally sensitive, with strong communication and facilitation skills.
• Comfortable working across sectors, with communities, contractors, and local governments.
• Able to document field progress and contribute to knowledge sharing.
• Base: Purwakarta, West Java
• Willing to travel for business
