Job Description:
- Manage, control, and organize the assigned service station, supervising 2 to 4 Assistant Waiters and/or Café attendants; oversee room service orders and dispatch when instructed.
- Manage restaurant reservations and seating arrangements as directed.
- Conduct stock takes and inventory following company procedures as needed.
- Learn and utilize appropriate food and wine terminology and pronunciation to enhance the Guest's dining experience; familiarize with menu descriptions and wine lists for proper discussion with guests.
- Have comprehensive knowledge of Vikings F&B options and ship activities; present menus, suggest courses and wines, and answer related questions.
- Relay orders to the Galley using MXP Ordering Software; serve courses and beverages following safety and company policies.
- Serve food and beverages efficiently and courteously, adhering to company standards.
- Prepare and execute F&B activities and special events as assigned.
- Maintain inventory stock in accordance with set par-levels, following safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ensure areas are set up per supervisor instructions and operational manuals.
- Minimize equipment loss/damage and maintain cleanliness standards, applying safety and health policies.
- Prepare mise-en-place 15 minutes prior to service.
- Participate in embarkation duties, including luggage assistance and guest escorting.
- Engage in daily team meetings to understand operational needs and uphold service standards.
- Provide high-level, sales-oriented guest service, maintaining impeccable hygiene and cleanliness.
- Wear appropriate PPE and use correct lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
- Secure company property, especially during rough weather, to prevent loss or damage.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working various shifts, working under pressure, and maintaining a positive attitude.
- Gain knowledge about ports of call, shore excursions, and onboard activities.
- Understand safety and security procedures and participate in related training and drills.
- Take ownership of assigned areas, assist other departments, and perform additional duties as assigned.
