A leading company in the palm oil industry seeks a Visiting Engineer based in Pontianak to oversee plantation management. The role involves independent reporting on operational standards, guidance for staff, and ensuring adherence to agricultural policies. Ideal candidates will possess extensive experience and a strong educational background.
The Visiting Engineer (VE) is a representative of the Management Board of the company and is tasked with visiting plantations (Estate & Mill) as necessary. They are to provide an independent, unbiased, and objective report on the current status of plantation management, including field conditions, agricultural standards, operating procedures, safety practices, security control, nursery practices, crop/product potential, quality, cost control, and general administrative management.
The report shall also include an analysis of variances against set targets for production and cost, and verify that achievements reflect the accounts and monthly reports.
The report shall highlight any shortcomings observed during inspections, including deviations from company policies or breaches of laws and regulations of government or statutory organizations, especially those threatening environmental issues and social harmony. This is to safeguard the company's image and reputation.
VE shall audit and review operations to ensure conformity with the company's standard operating procedures (SOP). VE shall promote best practices aligned with the Agriculture Policy and standards set by RSPO or ISPO to uphold sustainable palm oil principles.
VE shall act as an advisor and coach, providing guidance to staff and supervisory workers on plantations. They shall transfer technical knowledge and skills to improve management capabilities and motivate training and learning processes.
