Surf Pacific is looking for a remote Video Editor to join our growing team. We're a marketing agency based on the Gold Coast, Australia, working with professional and medical clients across Australia, the UK and the US, producing high-quality video content for websites, social media, advertising and broader brand campaigns.
We're looking for someone with a strong eye for detail and a good sense of how to turn professionally filmed footage into polished, engaging content. Photo-editing skills would be a great bonus, too.
This role is primarily post-production: taking footage from interviews, shoots and client projects and turning it into finished videos ready to publish.
You'll work closely with our Account Management, Creative and Production teams to edit video content across a range of clients and formats. Your work will include:
Editing professionally filmed footage using Adobe Premiere Pro, alongside supporting tools such as Adobe After Effects, Lightroom, Photoshop
Cutting interviews into natural, engaging, well-paced videos
Creating short-form cutdowns and social media content from longer footage
Editing content for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, websites and advertising
Cleaning up and balancing dialogue and audio, applying consistent colour correction and basic colour grading, stabilising footage where needed, and adding captions, titles, catchy transitions and graphics where appropriate
Exporting videos in the correct format and at high quality
Creating professional cover images for videos made
Working from creative direction, briefs, brand guidelines and reference videos
Support with photo-editing
Making revisions based on team feedback
Keeping project files, footage and exports organised
Managing multiple projects and deadlines across different clients
Our shoots can involve large amounts of high-resolution raw footage - sometimes up to 2 TB per project. Rather than requiring editors to store this locally, we often work via remote access to a Surf Pacific editing computer, using proxy files for efficient local editing. You'll need a suitable computer and reliable internet, but not several terabytes of local storage.
Experience with remote, proxy-based editing workflows is highly desirable.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Video Editor or in a similar role.
Bachelor’s degree in multimedia, creative arts, film, or similar
A organised portfolio demonstrating video editing skills in short-form and/or long-form content is a must
Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, Capcut, and Canva
Experienced in editing YouTube videos, short-form content (TikTok, Reels, Shorts), Podcasts
Strong understanding of video pacing, storytelling, transitions, composition, and audio synchronization.
Confident in communicating in English, both verbally and in writing, with clients and team members.
Ability to collaborate remotely & using a team management software
Agency experience is a plus
Fully remote, based in Jakarta
Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm AEST (Australia time), with a 1-hour lunch break
Follows the Australian public holiday calendar
Candidates should submit a comprehensive resume in English, with work samples demonstrating strong video editing skills. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
