Vice President, Government Affairs
Overview
- MasterCard’s Public Policy team protects and defends MasterCard’s reputational and regulatory interests in markets around the world.
- We build programs that earn the goodwill of governments, regulators, merchants and consumers through direct policy-maker and other stakeholder engagement and public-private partnerships.
- Our aim is to reduce the threat of negative regulation and build the platform for policies that support MasterCard’s business by advising on and supporting sensible and fair regulation.
- This role leads MasterCard’s public policy advocacy efforts in Indonesia, acting as the main point of contact for relationships with legislative and regulatory audiences and building third-party alliances.
- The focus is on developing strategies to advance MasterCard’s interests through engagement with the government and influencers in Indonesia.
Role
- Develop and implement a public policy strategy for Indonesia to address regulatory and legislative threats.
- Lead proactive outreach programs in conjunction with global public policy teams.
- Prepare submissions for regulatory reviews and engage with regulators.
- Brief executive management on regulatory developments and recommend responses.
- Establish MasterCard as a recognized expert in the payments industry and serve as the primary contact for Indonesian government and regulators.
- Manage government affairs agencies and lobbying efforts to advocate for the company's interests.
- Report to the Asia Pacific Head of Public Policy.
All About You
- A proven track record as a government relations executive supporting business growth in a dynamic environment.
- Degree-level education with management experience in public policy, government relations, or similar roles within a multinational or high-profile association.
- Deep understanding of Indonesian legislative and political processes and legislative impact analysis.
- Strong leadership skills and credibility within organizations.
- Team player with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, high-energy, results-driven.
- Analytical problem-solving skills, creative solutions, ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills for internal and external relationship building.
- Willingness to travel regionally and globally.
- Experience in financial services, payments, or technology sectors is valued but not mandatory.
