A leading mining company in Indonesia is looking for a translator and interpreter fluent in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Indonesia. Candidates should have 2-3 years of relevant experience and possess a degree in Chinese Language or a related field. The role involves translating documents and providing interpretation during meetings, as well as assisting in general administration tasks. Strong cultural mediation skills are essential to promote teamwork among diverse employees.
This role is responsible for Translation: Translate documents, emails, and other written materials from Mandarin to English and vice versa or Mandarin to Bahasa Indonesia vice versa.
This role is responsible for Interpretation: Provide simultaneous interpretation during meetings and conversations between employees and project partners: Chinese-speaking, English-speaking, and Indonesia-speaking people.
This role is responsible for General affairs support: assist in general affairs tasks such as office administration, document management.
This role is responsible for Cultural mediation: act as a cultural liaison, helping to bridge the gap between Chinese, English and Indonesia-speaking employees by promoting cultural understanding and integration.
Maintain Collaboration: collaborate with colleagues to create a harmonious and productive work environment, fostering a sense of teamwork and camaraderie among all employees, especially during the training period in China.
Maintain Documentation: maintain records of translated documents, correspondence, meeting notes.
Role Requirements
Graduate in Chinese Language and Literature Program, or relevant major;
Engineering or similar degree is preferred but other degrees and diplomas (e.g. International Business, Business Administration, Science, Finance etc.) would be acceptable.
2-3 years of experience as translator, either working for a Chinese company or a Chinese-affiliated company with a significant Chinese workforce. · Smelter experience (steelworks, non-ferrous smelting) greatly preferred but not compulsory.
Domain knowledge of Chinese language and culture
