Job summary

Welo Data is seeking experienced linguists to support a synthetic data generation program for a leading technology client. You will review English source documents with two machine-generated Indonesian translations, select the preferred version, and justify your choice. This is a remote freelance contract lasting two weeks.

You'll also review audio files and transcripts, evaluating accuracy and completeness according to project guidelines, working independently with strict timelines.

Qualifications

About the Role

Welo Data is seeking experienced linguists to support a synthetic data generation program for a leading technology client. In this role, you will perform A/B preference testing of machine-generated translations from English into Indonesian, helping to evaluate and improve the quality of AI-generated content. As a Translation Validator, you will independently review an English source document alongside two machine-generated translations (Variant A and Variant B), select the preferred translation, and provide a written justification for your choice. Each sample is reviewed by three independent validators working in a blind process.

Requirements

• Native-level fluency in Indonesian (written and spoken).

• Familiarity with Romanized script conventions for the relevant language is a plus (for transliteration tasks).
