We are looking for a Senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Core Broadband to lead the operations and strategy of the Gi-Interface domain and broadband internet domain in one of Telecommunication Carrier Company. This role will oversee critical components from IP Core Network to the internet, mainly for handling Load Balancers and Large NAT platforms.
The SME will act as a technical authority, ensuring the availability, scalability, and performance of the broadband internet services that directly impact millions of subscribers. The role involves design validation, operational governance, vendor engagement, and automation roadmap leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the domain authority for Gi-interface domain & broadband IP core: Load Balancers, Internet NAT/LSN and other component such as DNS, Edge Border Router, etc.
- Lead end-to-end design, planning, and optimization for Gi-Interface and internet interconnect services.
- Drive incident management & RCA for complex issues impacting subscriber internet experience.
- Own the capacity planning and long-term roadmap for Gi-Interface infrastructure and IP address pools.
- Establish and enforce best practices, SOPs, and design standards for broadband IP services.
- Provide strategic guidance on CDN deployments, internet peering, and caching optimization.
- Collaborate with Core Network, Transport, Security, and IT teams to ensure service resiliency and performance.
- Manage and review work of operations teams; provide technical leadership and mentorship.
- Engage and manage vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Huawei, F5, Infoblox, Akamai, etc.) for escalations and roadmap discussions.
- Contribute to automation and AI/ML initiatives for fault detection, traffic steering, and performance monitoring.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.
- 7 years or more of experience in Broadband Internet domain.
- Hands-on experience with F5 Load Balancers (NAT, traffic steering, LSN pools).
- Experience with DNS systems (Infoblox or equivalent).
- Knowledge of CDN integration (Akamai, Meta, Google, Netflix, etc.).
- Strong IP/MPLS routing knowledge (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, peering policies).
- Deep understanding of QoE/QoS metrics (latency, jitter, etc).
- Experience leading large-scale incident recovery, RCA, and post-mortems.
