John Galt Services seeks a full-time Technical Operations Specialist to own day-to-day tech operations for a US customer building a national cash-back platform with 20,000+ merchants. Job description

John Galt Services seeks a full-time Technical Operations Specialist to serve a US customer building a national cash-back rewards platform that connects consumers with 20,000+ merchants. You'll own the day-to-day execution of technology operations and build the operational playbook from scratch: documented, repeatable procedures for merchant onboarding, configuration, verification, and incident response.

This is a production platform with real money flowing through it. Merchants are being onboarded, transactions are being verified, and anomalies need to be caught before they compound. You won't be shuffling spreadsheets or writing status reports. You'll be building the operational foundation that lets this platform scale.

You must be fluent in English. You will join our customer's operations team as a remote member with real responsibilities, not busywork.

Minimum Job Qualifications

FLUENT SPOKEN & WRITTEN ENGLISH! You will communicate daily with a US-based team. Your English must be clear and confident, spoken and written. If you aren't sure, keep practicing and apply next time.

DETAIL-ORIENTED AND SELF-DIRECTED! You push tasks forward without waiting to be told. When something looks off, you dig until you understand why: you don't accept surface-level confirmation and move on. If you need someone checking on you every hour, this role will be frustrating for both of us.

TECHNICALLY LITERATE! You don't need to write production code, but you must be comfortable navigating technical systems. You can read a configuration file, spot an anomaly in a transaction log, and navigate a Jira board without hand-holding.

STRONG DOCUMENTATION SKILLS! You write clear, precise operational procedures. If it isn't documented, it doesn't scale. Your runbooks will define how this platform operates at 20,000+ merchants.

SMALL-TEAM MINDSET! This is an early-stage environment where roles overlap and processes are built from scratch. You thrive in ambiguity, not bureaucracy. If you need a 50-page SOP before you can take action, keep looking.

What You'll Do

Process development: Build and maintain operational runbooks for merchant onboarding, store configuration, and incident response. Create documented, repeatable procedures that enable consistent execution at scale.

Operational execution: Ingest merchants, configure stores, verify transactions. Investigate anomalies with discipline: dig beyond surface-level confirmation.

Operational tracking: Translate operational needs into Jira tickets and track delivery. Represent operational priorities where engineering and ops intersect.

Quality assurance: Verify that configurations are correct, transactions are flowing properly, and edge cases are caught before they become incidents.

Reporting Structure

You report to the customer's COO. The CTO and tech lead provide technical guidance and day-to-day coordination where operations and engineering intersect.

Working Arrangements

You are supporting our customer remotely, but this is NOT a remote job! We will provide working space and equipment in Kerobokan, Bali. All work is performed on-site.

Salary & Benefits

New associates start at a probationary pay scale of IDR 8 jt / month gross (i.e. before taxes & benefits). Your probationary period is three months.

After successfully completing probation, you become eligible for placement and performance bonuses that can significantly increase your total compensation:

Placement Bonus: Up to IDR 4,000,000/month when placed with a client, bringing your effective monthly compensation to IDR 12 jt / month gross.

Performance Bonus: Up to 50% of your total monthly compensation (base + placement bonus) for any month in which you meet or exceed expectations. This can bring your total pay as high as IDR 18 jt / month gross.

We also reserve a large pool of funds for staff perks, events & annual bonuses. If we are happy with your work, you will be VERY happy with your choice!

Growth Path

As the merchant base grows and processes mature, this role grows with it: from hands-on specialist to operations manager overseeing additional hires as volume demands.
