To strengthen our team in our Indonesia Technical Center, we are looking for a Technical Assistant.

Role Purpose
The Technical Assistant is a full-time role who will actively support the Technical Service Manager in testing drymix mortar formulations, implementing new test methods, sourcing raw materials/equipment, and supporting in troubleshooting customer problems.

The Technical Assistant will also assist the Technical Service Manager in implementing WACKER and local (Singapore) Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) standards and legislation.

Job Scope

1. Perform day-to-day laboratory testing and analysis according to international and defined standards; interpret, document results with high accuracy, report and present laboratory test results as outlined.
2. Maintain stock level of all raw materials and dispose of expired materials.
3. Ensure equipment is maintained and in good condition and is calibrated according to standards and SOP.
4. Support Technical Service Managers to ensure the lab is operated in line with WACKER quality standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP); develop and update SOPs whenever necessary.
5. Ensure the lab is clean, tidy and take the initiative to clear any non-conformance.

Job Requirements

1. Diploma in Materials Science, Chemical or Civil Engineering; ideally with exposure in testing cementitious materials e.g. concrete, polymer cement composite.
2. Fluency in English; effective communication and presentation skills.
3. Customer orientated.
4. Ability to work in an international team and to handle an organizational matrix structure.
5. Organized, worked under minimal supervision, ability to structure the work independently.
6. Ability to handle heavy loads, e.g. concrete slab weighing 10 – 15 kg.
