Job summary

Keywords Studios is seeking a Technical Artist to join the team on an exciting, unannounced project. You will create and maintain tools, scripts and pipelines to help artists produce high-quality visuals efficiently.

You will collaborate with artists, designers and engineers to resolve technical issues, communicate requirements, and push visuals while meeting real-time performance constraints. Experience with modern engines and art tools is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Technical Artist on a commercial game project.
• Strong understanding of real-time art production, optimisation, pipeline development and technical problem-solving.
• Proficiency in scripting and languages such as MAXScript, MEL, C#, Python, HLSL, GLSL.
• Good artistic eye, balancing visual quality with performance constraints.
• Experience with VFX, materials, shaders, lighting models, tool development and pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Creates and maintains tools, scripts and pipelines to help the art team produce high-quality visuals efficiently.
• Works with artists, designers and engineers to identify technical issues and improve workflows.
• Communicates technical requirements and constraints to the development team.
• Solves technical challenges to maximise visual quality within real-time performance limits.
• Prototypes and implements procedural VFX, shaders and related visual systems.
