Job summary

Shopee is seeking a senior AI/Automation professional to lead end-to-end projects from design through implementation, focusing on tax workflows, data pipelines, and AI-driven document processing.

You will build scalable tools with Python, SQL, and RPA, and develop dashboards for Tax and Finance leadership. Strong English and Bahasa Indonesia communication is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical domain.
• 6+ years in software development, data engineering, automation, or AI/ML.
• Strong Python and SQL with solid data modeling knowledge.
• Experience with AI/LLMs and APIs (OpenAI/Claude).
• Track record delivering end-to-end technology projects and automation tools.
• Professional proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia for collaboration.

Responsibilities

Job description

Job Description:

• Lead and deliver end-to-end AI and automation projects from solution design through to implementation within the project period
• Map tax workflows alongside key stakeholders, identify operational inefficiencies, and prioritize manual tasks for process automation
• Build and maintain scalable automation tools using Python, SQL, workflow/RPA technologies, and LLMs
• Develop automated reconciliation tools for tax compliance, including VAT and withholding tax alignment against the general ledger
• Build robust data pipelines to extract, clean, and transform structured data from ERP systems and peripheral source applications
• Design AI-driven assistants to parse, extract, and summarize complex tax documentation, invoices, and regulatory guidelines
• Construct executive dashboards and automated reporting solutions for Tax and Finance leadership
• Translate complex tax functional requirements into structured technical architecture and communicate technology options to non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborate with Finance, Business Intelligence, and IT teams to govern data access, system integration, and solution deployment
• Establish technical documentation, process guidelines, and SOPs to enable seamless solution adoption and ongoing maintenance by the tax team
• Contribute to shaping the long-term tax technology roadmap and support the onboarding of project team members

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical domain, or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in software development, data engineering, process automation, or AI/ML implementation
• Strong hands-on proficiency in Python and SQL, with deep knowledge of database architecture and data modeling
• Practical experience building with AI and LLMs, including OpenAI/Claude APIs, prompt engineering, document extraction, RAG frameworks, or AI agents
• Proven track record of end-to-end technology project delivery, automated reconciliation tools, and data pipeline construction
• Professional proficiency in oral and written English and Bahasa Indonesia for multi-stakeholder collaboration
