Your Day To Day
- Provide internal VAT advisory to business process owners, including support for any relevant local tax authority inquiries.
- Support Tax Manager in delivering VAT refreshment to GBS Team and business process owners.
- Involve in the implementation of new or updated tax systems upon new business models, initiatives, or changes in local regulations.
- Support Tax Manager in preparing, monitoring, and ensuring the readiness of document requests related to tax, customs, and excise audits, including drafting response letters, exposure analysis, liaising with external consultants, and presenting the defense to the authorities.
- Oversee the VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local tax regulations.
- Monitor the reconciliation and compilation of VAT distribution and analysis, VAT returns, VAT offshore, and VAT base.
- Perform analysis on the movement of VAT payable and conduct balance sheet reviews and commentary for tobacco entities.
- Perform reconciliation of excise flows for all tobacco entities, including the reconciliation of cash, documents, and goods.
- Prepare cost structures of intercompany sales and assess the eligibility of applying preferential tariffs.
- Document cost structure for intercompany transactions in the PMI Tax Portal, including the list of origin claims for export and import. Review financial statements related to VAT figures.
- Collaborate with internal audit and external consultants on non-SOX documentation.
- Assist PMI affiliates in preparing and providing data, documents, and reports required for tax, customs, and excise audits when needed.
Who We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Tax; Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in indirect taxation (VAT, customs, and excise) or tax experience with multinational companies or Big Four tax consulting firms.
- Brevet certification (minimum Tax certification level B – Brevet B) and certified customs service organizer (certified PPJK) are preferred.
- Proficiency in English is preferable.
- Enthusiasm for technology and experience with MS Excel, SAP, and CoreTax systems. Good communication skills, fast learner, highly motivated, with strong analytical skills and minimal supervision required.
- Willing to be placed in Surabaya or Jakarta.
