Protodigy Consultancy is seeking a System Engineer Linux (m/w/d) to own high-availability Linux environments for enterprise clients from the Frankfurt area. The role demands German language at C1 and English at B2, strong Linux skills, MySQL expertise, and automation with Puppet and Ansible.

Hybrid work is offered with 2–3 days onsite at Frankfurt HQ. You will work with KVM/oVirt, Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, and Varnish, shaping the infrastructure and contributing to architecture discussions.

Qualifications

• German language at C1 level required for daily operations and technical discussions.
• Strong Linux system administration experience (CentOS/RHEL/Debian).
• Hands-on MySQL configuration and clustering experience.
• Proficiency with Puppet and Ansible for automation.
• Willingness to work from Frankfurt HQ 2–3 days per week (hybrid).

• C1 German & B2 English: This is a hard technical requirement. Your daily operations and complex architecture discussions will be conducted entirely in German.
• Command Line Fluency: Deep, professional expertise in Linux system administration (CentOS, RHEL, Debian).
• Database Mastery: Strong, hands‑on experience with MySQL configuration and clustering.
• Automation Chops: Proven proficiency with Puppet and Ansible.
• Hybrid Commitment: A willingness to work from the Frankfurt am Main HQ for 50% of the week (2–3 days onsite).

You Won’t Be a Small Cog In a Massive Machine. You Will Be Actively Shaping The Infrastructure. Your Day-to-day Will Involve:

• Operating and maintaining high-availability Linux server landscapes for household-name clients.
• Deploying and maintaining open‑source software stacks (Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, Varnish).
• Driving automation and configuration management using Puppet and Ansible.
• Working heavily with virtualisation platforms (KVM, RHEV/oVirt) and modern containerised environments.
• Engaging directly in architecture discussions and proactive performance management.
