A global mineral manufacturing company seeks a Sustainability Manager to ensure compliance and performance in health, safety, and environmental standards. This role includes monitoring regulations, conducting audits, and implementing effective risk management strategies. Candidates should possess relevant education and significant experience in the minerals sector.
Ensure the all management systems and product quality as well as safety and health in accordance with the standards specified (ISO, QHSE, Government Health Safety and Environment Regulations) in order to ensure smooth operation sites, including office, plant and quarry within the area of responsibility.
Shared Responsibilities:
Development of Safe Work Method Statements, updates of risk registers (shared with Operations, SCM, Engineering, Mining teams).

Sustainability Function Management :
Plan and implement health, safety and environment programs and project for properties under management (warehouses, plants and mines/quarries);
Develop, monitor and reviewSustainabilityObjectives and Targets and KPIs.
Identification and evaluation of Quality, Health, Safety Environment & product safety risks, for activities products and services, and development of risk reduction measures;
Organize plant and mine QHSE audits and report outcomesto ensurethe QHSE system of all operational process accordance with ISO/OHSAS standard, and assist sites to make improvement plans as needed;
Monitor and maintain environmental and safety compliance requirements on local and national level.Keep up to date with local and regional legal matters;
Advise on issues ofheallth, safety andenvironment to ensure company standards or statutory requirements are met;
Facilitate information sharing amongst sites (warehouses, plants, quarries/mines) within the legal entity;
Establish training requirements for QHSE responsibilities;
Ensure the quality of products to the customer in accordance with the quality standard and specifications have been determined;
Ensure product compliance with regulatory and safety requirements, according to relevant laws and corporate guidelines;
Ensure the Plant laboratory instruments are managed according to the company standards.
Maintenance and update all documents related sustainability data;
Reviewing customer complaints and QHSE incidents to find the root cause of the problem, so there is no recurring problem
Monitor the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program with the relevant function.
Performance Measures :
Availability of procedures governing the governance of health safety environment that is understandable to the relevant parties.
Reduction in recurring in-process quality issues and customer complaints
ISO/OHSAS Management system compliance (excluding statutory legal compliance), including worker health monitoring.
Plant/site participation in corporate & regional policies and procedures
Education:
Preferred: Tertiary level: Relevant safety qualification: Bachelors, or Diploma or Certificate in occupational health and safety, for example NIOSH or equivalent.
May consider Bachelor’s Degree or Technical institute diploma, in a relevant technical field, with proven relevant occupational health and safety experience, and technical knowledge
Experience :
Minimum5 years of relevant working experience in sustainability/QSHErolein non-metallic mining, mineral processing or engineering, or heavy industry.
Knowledge and skills (general, technical and soft skills) :
Demonstrated track record:Implementationand development of ISO/OHSAS management systems and practical understanding of cosmetics/food grade HACCP and GMP
Capability to train and motivate operations team.
Good analytical skills with ability to write clear and concise reports.
Solution-oriented and proactive approach.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills across different cultures or work environments.
Competent with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Other requirements :
Excellent command of both oral and written local language and English are required.
Certified training of ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO9001 by an approved training organization is beneficial.
