Ready Resources (RR) provides solutions to large mining clients across the Pilbara Region and is currently seeking the best Diesel Fitters for our Sugar Mill Project in Queensland, Australia.

Roles needed:

10x HD Fitters

Roster:

Monday-Friday 8 hour shifts

Location:

Townsville – QLD

Must have:

Minimum 2 years experience on a Sugar mill

Tasks and Duties:

• Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of our locomotive fleet and mobile plant, ensuring all equipment runs at peak performance.
• Contribute to safe, smooth, and efficient operations.
• Conduct regular servicing and maintenance of diesel-powered trucks, tractors, and other heavy equipment.
• Participate in preventative maintenance programs, troubleshoot breakdowns, and assist with fault reporting and repairs to ensure optimal operations.
• Provide leadership and support to apprentices and trainees by assigning tasks, setting performance targets, and delivering on-the-job training and feedback.
• Work closely with the Work Coordinator on cost control, scheduling, and performance assessments that support continuous improvement.
• Complete all work orders and permits accurately, while maintaining timesheets and reports to ensure smooth operations.
• Engage in a collaborative team environment—conduct inspections, identify and resolve issues, and implement improvements to maintain high-quality standards.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• A Trade Qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Diesel Fitter, and/or Light Vehicle Mechanic.
• A current manual driver’s license.
• Confined Space Entry.
• Working Safely at Heights.
• Any additional relevant certificates – these are a great advantage!
