Job summary

PT Sea Group is seeking a Strategy & Commercial Specialist focused on Data Center site selection and solutioning within the Infrastructure team. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/IT or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years in Commercial Management, Product/ Solution role, or Data Center/IT infra.
  • Familiarity with Data Center M&E systems and industry standards (Uptime Institute, TIA-942).

Responsibilities

  • Develop Data Center strategies aligned with business needs, including capacity planning and lifecycle management.
  • Drive evaluation of commercial terms, estimate market trends, and calculate total cost of ownership for data center contracts.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to structure commercial agreements and ensure alignment between technical and commercial aspects.
  • Work with engineering and operations to align commercial terms during planning and deployment phases.
  • Conduct market research to provide insights on data center trends and pricing models.
  • Coordinate with colocation providers, equipment vendors, and system integrators to ensure performance and value.
  • Participate in vendor evaluations for capacity, negotiations, and performance reviews.
  • Support development of partnership strategies to improve service quality and reduce cost exposure.
  • Track metrics on cost efficiency, uptime, and resource utilization; prepare management reports.
  • Maintain dashboards monitoring data center expenditures, electricity costs, forecast accuracy, and vendor performance.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvements in contract negotiations and governance.

Job description

Our Infrastructure team provides the end-to-end managed services and solutions for the entire group’s Internet infrastructure alongside running business applications. We excel in building the architecture, providing solutions, deployment and operations of data centers, connectivity, cloud, networking, servers, system, storage, software, platforms and security. We are a proud provider of high-quality and stable running business applications and services to our business units.

As a Strategy & Commercial Specialist with a focus on Data Center site selection and solutioning in the Infrastructure team, you will work with a team of innovators and technologists, together to create solutions that improve the way our business runs. You will play a key role in developing and executing data center strategies that balance technical performance and commercial viability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data center capacity planning, site selection, vendor engagement, and cost optimization, ensuring our infrastructure investments align with business growth and sustainability goals.

  • Develop Data Center strategies that are aligned with business needs, including capacity planning, cost modeling, and lifecycle management.
  • Drive the evaluation of commercial terms, estimate market trend, and calculate total cost of ownership (TCO) for new and existing data center contracts.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Technical Project Managers, Data Center Operations, Network Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Legal etc.) to execute Data Center strategies and structure commercial agreements.
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure commercial and technical alignment during data center planning and deployment phases.
  • Conduct research and provide market insights and analysis on data center trends, pricing models, and emerging technologies to support business decisions.
  • Coordinate with colocation providers, equipment vendors, and system integrators to ensure optimal performance and commercial value.
  • Participate in vendor evaluations for capacity acquisition, contract negotiations, and performance reviews.
  • Support the development of partnership strategies to enhance service quality and reduce cost exposure.
  • Track and analyze key metrics related to cost efficiency, uptime, and resource utilization, and assist in preparing summary reports for management.
  • Maintain dashboards for monitoring data center expenditures, electricity cost trends, forecast accuracy, and vendor performance.
  • Continuously working in process improvement plans to streamline contract negotiations and execution.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at standardizing commercial processes and documentation across regions.
  • Support continuous improvement in financial governance, vendor accountability, and project delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization in collaboration with senior team members.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Computer Engineering / Information Technology / Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Commercial Management, Product Manager, Solution Architect within the telco, cloud, IT infrastructure or energy sector.
  • Strong interest and developing skills in commercial analysis, vendor coordination, and contract administration.
  • Familiarity with Data Center M&E systems and industry standards (Uptime Institute, TIA-942).
  • Proficiency in data and financial analysis.
  • Certifications such as CDCP, CDCS, or Uptime ATD/ATS are a plus.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and results-driven; capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eager to learn and build expertise in commercial and data center operations.
  • Resourceful and well-connected within the Data Center market is an advantage.
