Job summary

Purpose seeks a Strategist with climate expertise for a fixed-term contract to support a strategy and research project focused on sustainable aviation in Indonesia. The contractor will design and execute qualitative research, engage with stakeholders, and draft client recommendations, working remotely with time zone flexibility.

Reporting to the Campaign Lead, the role requires 6–8 years in climate research, solid interviewing skills, and fluency in English and Bahasa.

Qualifications

• 6 to 8 years of experience designing and executing research on technical climate issues, with a focus on aviation.
• Experience in digital research, narrative research, and message testing
• Ability to design and conduct client-facing interviews and sharebacks with ease
• Strong writing, storytelling, and communication skills to move audiences and build support
• Fluency in English and Bahasa (written and spoken)

Responsibilities

• Identify experts to interview in partnership with the Project Lead and client in the aviation sector in India and Indonesia.
• Conduct desk research to prepare interview guides and conduct interviews with issue experts.
• Synthesize interview results into broader trends and report to the client.
• Support Project Lead with interviews in India.
• Track narratives and actors and identify influential messengers and decision makers.
• Coordinate with team to pull results from social listening, digital research and interviews to develop shareback reports.
