Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Sourcing Specialist in Batam to support procurement activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will develop and implement savings plans, analyze spend, negotiate with suppliers, and manage contracts.

The role requires at least 3 years in Engineering or Supply Chain, familiarity with Syteline ERP, and strong English communication. Travel up to 10–20% of the time within Indonesia and overseas is expected. Onsite work at Batu Ampar, Batam.

Qualifications

• University degree with minimum 3 years’ experience in Engineering or Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

• Developing improvement plans to support buyers and professionals related to Response Time, Lean Targets Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM).
• Performing analysis and maintenance of assigned processes to ensure output excellence and continuous improvement.
• Supporting customers and proposals with pricing information and supplier selection.
• Performing analytical and administrative tasks in support of purchasing strategic initiatives.
• Performing spend analysis to identify savings opportunities and improvements in payment terms.
• Developing sourcing strategies through the seven steps of strategic sourcing from spend analysis to monitoring performance.
• Engaging top suppliers (top 20% by spend) for regular performance monitoring of pricing, quality and on-time delivery.
• Sourcing for new or alternative suppliers and onboarding with cross-functional teams for best total cost.
• Maintaining a price book updated with negotiations and contracts for reference by buyers and estimators.
