Sr. Backend Engineer (Talent Pool)

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our client's team in Jakarta. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development and maintenance of backend applications and services. In addition to technical excellence, this role requires demonstrated experience in technical leadership, where you will guide and mentor junior and medior engineers, provide architectural guidance, and contribute to the overall success of the projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and robust backend applications and services.
2. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and medior engineers.
3. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and designers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
4. Drive architectural decisions and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
5. Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure code quality and maintainability.
6. Identify and resolve complex technical challenges and performance bottlenecks.
7. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and actively share knowledge with the team.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as a Senior Backend Engineer or similar role, with at least 5 to 8 years of relevant experience.
3. Strong programming skills in multiple stack languages, including but not limited to: Golang, Java, Python, Ruby, Node.js, or C++ is a plus.
4. Extensive experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
5. Expertise in building scalable and performant APIs and microservices architectures.
6. Demonstrated technical leadership experience, including guiding and mentoring other engineers.
7. Proficiency with version control systems, preferably Git.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle complex challenges.
9. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
10. Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
11. Must be able to work on-site in Jakarta.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience in technical leadership roles, driving architectural decisions and leading engineering teams.
2. Strong understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
3. Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
