About the Role
The Solution Engineer (MEP – Data Center) is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within data center facilities. This role ensures that MEP infrastructure meets reliability, efficiency, and sustainability requirements, while aligning with client needs and industry best practices.
Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
- Develop MEP design solutions (HVAC, cooling, power distribution, fire protection, plumbing) for data centers.
Project Implementation & Support
- Prepare technical proposals, drawings, and BOQs for MEP systems.
Operations & Optimization
- Monitor system performance, identify inefficiencies, and propose optimization strategies.
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with clients to understand requirements and propose technical solutions.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for system integration and compliance.
- Provide technical training and documentation for operations teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- 3–5+ years of experience in MEP/data center projects.
Required Skills – Solution Engineer (MEP Data Center)
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for data centers.
- Expertise in power systems: UPS, generators, switchgear, power distribution, grounding.
- Knowledge of cooling systems: chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH, precision air-conditioning.
- Familiarity with fire protection & suppression systems.
- Understanding of building management systems (BMS) and monitoring tools.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM software for MEP design.
Project & Business Skills
- Ability to prepare technical proposals, drawings, BOQ, and tender documents.
- Strong problem-solving & troubleshooting capabilities.
- Experience in site supervision, installation, testing & commissioning.
- Project management basics: scheduling, resource coordination, risk management.
- Vendor & contractor coordination.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical thinking and detail orientation.
- Good communication & presentation skills (able to explain technical details to non-technical stakeholders).
- Team collaboration with cross-functional departments (IT, civil, operations).
