Job description

JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled professional to manage and oversee critical chemical processes, including anodizing, passivation, and painting, within the aerospace industry. In this role, you will play a key part in enhancing the durability and performance of products through expert application of surface treatment techniques. Your contributions will ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance with industry regulations, including MIL, ASTM, AMS, and NADCAP. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Design and develop chemical processes for process qualification and customer approval.
  2. Develop and implement improvements or products on the manufacturing process to achieve efficiency, quality, and/or cost improvements by participating in new product introduction (FAI).
  3. Interpret and develop chemical processes from drawing review, specification review, process qualification with customer, and process approval, until established operation.
  4. Provide customer special process method engineering for economic production; may participate in meetings with customers.
  5. Assess proper material, tooling, automation, and equipment selection.
  6. Work with manufacturing to troubleshoot problems, upgrades, retrofits, set-ups, methods development, and the development of process parameters.
  7. Participate in product development meetings and may make recommendations to special process method changes to enhance manufacturing.
  8. Conduct proof of concept experiments and other testing requirements as needed.
  9. Develop SOP’s operations, Process Control Plan (PCP), and Shop Traveler (ST).
  10. Keep an eye on new technology or development tools to remain informed of current technology.
  11. Understand Lean Six Sigma tools, projects, and processes and incorporate these into assigned engineering projects.
  12. May assume lead role in small or sub-section of large project, as assigned, and act as Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  13. Participate and lead required audit preparation, that includes review audit checklist, conducting an internal job audit, and closing any findings.
  14. Review completed projects for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
  15. Ensure projects are compliant with all local, regional, and national regulatory requirements, codes, and controls.
  16. Support all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Minimum Diploma Degree in Chemical Engineering.
  2. 4-6 years of experience in Aerospace Chemical Processing / High Mix Low Volume / Automotive.
  3. Deep understanding of Aerospace Chemical Processing, such as Anodizing, Chemical Film, Passivation, Etching, and Painting.
  4. Good comprehension of a wide range of chemical process specifications such as MIL, ASTM, AMS, AS, and specific customer specifications.
  5. Establish and maintain all chemical process documents such as SOP, PCP, WI, ST, and TS.
  6. Experience as a main window for NADCAP audit/accreditation: preparation, during audit, and post-audit (closing).
  7. Involvement in change management processes such as Delta FAI (First Article Inspection), ECN, ECR, and gap analysis.
  8. Ability to interpret drawings for the chemical process noted in the drawing.
  9. Can calculate and define chemical/paint material consumption for a manufacturing cost review.
  10. Familiar with problem-solving techniques (5 why analysis, fishbone, A3, 8D, etch).
  11. Good communication in Bahasa and English.
