The opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is searching for a skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Yavapai Hotel in Grand Canyon, Arizona. As Sous Chef, you will assist in managing the kitchen team, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, developing menus, and ensuring the highest quality standards. You’ll work with a team who share your passion, while refining your culinary skills to deliver exceptional experiences for our guests.

This role is a full-time, year-round salaried position. Relocation assistance is available along with housing!

Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $49,500 – $66,800 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range.

What will you do?
  • Assist in hiring, development, training, and mentoring of team and act as a resource to them
  • Coach, counsel, and assist in conducting performance evaluations of the production team
  • Assist in developing training and training programs for the production team
  • Monitor staffing levels to minimize cost and increase productivity, recommend staffing needs according to business levels
  • Maintain a team-oriented atmosphere
More about you
  • Three years’ culinary arts experience, including previous experience in a management role. More specifically experience in high-volume, quality-oriented restaurant or banquets department
  • Excellent volume cooking skills, presentation skills, and palate
  • Strong leadership and management skills working with a variety of team members of different skill levels and varied backgrounds
  • Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, and the kitchen computer production system
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, and good listening skills
  • Ability to handle many tasks at once and effectiveness in a fast-paced work environment with good decision-making skills and ability to proactively make changes as needed
  • Ability to work flexible schedule to accommodate business levels
