Responsible for the strategic development of sourcing and material planning to maximize value for money and ensure compliance through the support and development of best practice for the group of businesses. The role is part of the sourcing team involved in developing and implementing ongoing Procurement Strategies, policies, and supplier performance management. The person supports the development and review of policies and processes in procurement to create greater competition and align the business to category procurement strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), from intake and drafting to execution, performance monitoring, and renewal or termination.
- Focus on sourcing for innovation, including materials, sub-contractors, equipment, processes, solutions, and design.
- Optimize all sourcing procedures to attain maximum efficiency, estimate potential risks, and apply risk-minimizing techniques.
- Plan and manage the company’s supply portfolio and sourcing strategy; negotiate with suppliers to achieve long-term benefits in quality, cost, and delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement, best value, and quality improvements within the team and departments; challenge existing practices and seek better outcomes to meet key performance and financial targets and take corrective action when necessary.
- Leverage resources across boundaries to support business goals and address contractual and commercial risk with the necessary expertise.
- Report to Management and committees as required with up-to-date procurement status, development, value for money, and regulatory compliance (including Anti-Bribery and Corruption and Fraud).
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and external requirements (e.g., OJEU) and implement strategies that safeguard contractual and commercial risk.
- Develop excellent collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, external providers, and other agencies to ensure strategic and operational needs are understood and addressed.
- Lead and motivate staff, providing appropriate support, training, and development to achieve their potential.
- Identify procurement training needs for the group, manage future demand and capacity planning, and develop supplier risk management.
- Promote procurement best practices across the group through continuous improvement.
- Act as the principal conduit for formal communications with external companies during the procurement process.
- Foster development of relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
- Work closely with R&D and operations to identify gaps and opportunities as part of continuous improvement; support R&D/Product Management on component selection.
- Uphold governance and compliance to promote awareness and transparency.
- Perform any other ad-hoc projects as assigned by the immediate reporting line.
REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management.
- At least 5 years of proven work experience in procurement, sourcing, and managing an international/global sourcing & logistics team.
- Preferably experience in manufacturing, mechanical, or electro-mechanical industries.
- Meticulous, systematic, organized, proactive with a sound understanding of sourcing dynamics and business judgment.
- Experience in sourcing vendors in areas such as NTM, Raw materials, and Chemicals is a plus.
- Able to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment independently.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills including negotiation and contracting.
- Experience in developing and managing team members.
