Job description

Amartha is a technology company focused on creating shared prosperity by developing digital financial solutions for the grassroots economy. Founded in 2010 as a microfinance institution, Amartha connects rural, women-led micro-enterprises with affordable capital. Amartha is expanding as a tech company, building a microfinance ecosystem that connects to the growing digital economy through capital, investment, and payment services. By boosting the competitiveness of micro and small entrepreneurs, Amartha empowers women-led MSMEs, creates jobs, and fosters inclusive economic growth.

About The Role
To support the growing complexity of our platform—especially as we develop and integrate key donation and zakat features into the AmarthaFin app—we need rigorous testing and clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure stability, security, and a smooth user experience. Without a dedicated QA Engineer, we risk bugs, inconsistencies, and disruptions in donor transactions, which are critical for maintaining trust. Bringing in a QA Engineer will help ensure all new features are thoroughly tested, well-documented, and meet our commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality service.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Execute Test Plans – Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure all platform features—especially integrations like AmarthaFin—are thoroughly validated for functionality, usability, and security.
  • Implement Testing SOPs – Establish and maintain standardized testing procedures to ensure consistent quality checks throughout development cycles, aligned with partner requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Automate Testing Workflows – Design and implement automated testing frameworks to increase efficiency and enable faster feedback during product development and deployment.
  • Identify, Document, and Track Bugs – Proactively detect and document issues, collaborate with developers to reproduce bugs, and ensure timely resolution using transparent tracking systems (e.g., Jira, GitHub Issues).
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams – Work closely with product managers, developers, and external partners like Amartha to understand requirements, provide feedback, and ensure the end-to-end quality of all digital solutions.
  1. 3–5 Years of Professional QA Experience – Proven track record in quality assurance for both web and mobile applications, with experience leading or owning testing processes across multiple projects or product lines.
  2. Proficient with QA Tools and Techniques – Skilled in using tools like Postman for API testing, and JIRA or similar platforms for bug tracking and test management.
  3. Strong Understanding of SDLC and Testing Best Practices – Familiar with Agile development processes and capable of implementing structured testing strategies, including regression, performance, and integration testing.
  4. Experience in Integration and End-to-End Testing – Demonstrated ability to design and execute integration tests, particularly across third-party platforms or API-based systems (e.g., AmarthaFin integration).
  5. Excellent Problem-Solving and Communication Skills – Able to identify root causes of defects, recommend improvements, and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and external partners.

At Amartha, we are dedicated to creating a workplace that celebrates diversity, ensures equity, and fosters inclusion. We believe that diverse perspectives—shaped by factors such as gender, age, race, ethnicity, education, culture, and life experiences—drive innovation and growth.

We actively welcome individuals from all backgrounds to join us in building an environment where everyone feels respected, valued, and empowered. Our commitment is to provide equal opportunities and foster a sense of belonging that enables our employees to thrive and make meaningful contributions.
