Job description
MISSION

In one or two sentences, outline the primary purpose(s) of this position within the organization

Blow Molding Process Engineer role focused on leading and optimizing blow molding manufacturing processes, ensuring quality, safety and efficiency of process control systems.

Overview

Lead and Optimize Blow molding manufacturing process and process flow methods and equipment. Monitors the quality, safety and efficiency of BMP process control, ensuring the quality of the product. This includes adjustment, troubleshooting, continuous improvement of the process control systems, alarms, error proofing or any equivalent device present on the production lines.

Responsibilities

Responsibility 1: Guarantee the process control effectiveness

  • Ensure consistency of production parameters versus setup book.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of BMM (e.g. DASIP Critipar with tolerance % and Cycles within Critipar tolerance %, Raw Material feeding systems, …)
  • Define and coordinate the fast reaction plan to alarms and in case of issues (e.g. network, breakdowns).
  • Manage troubleshoot process controls to define areas for improvement, potential degraded mode and action plan for issues eradication.
  • Coordinate and adjust the preventive maintenance plan based on the process parameters drift and trend,
  • Ensure well-documented process control systems to ensure effective process control, system maintenance and data acquisition.

Responsibility 2: Communicate status, escalation issues and train others

  • Report the status of process control critical issues in the daily production meeting & Fast Response meetings
  • Escalade to Engineering Manager/Quality manager and Plant Manager, after identification of risk (e.g. process control disconnected, critical parameters out of range, critical breakdown), to evaluate the necessity to stop production and deliveries
  • Promote and ensure the use of process control in the site (BMM control, DASIP, Traceability of process on all machines at any time.
  • Promote the mindset of process control in all layers of the organization
  • Train production & quality teams, technical & maintenance departments to ensure optimum utilization and maintenance of the control systems.

Responsibility 3: Continuous improvement

  • Lead and Analyze KPIs and recurrent process alarms to find ways to improve and develop process control systems.
  • Share best practices within the technical community and apply lessons learned.
  • Lead and Analyze DASIP Critipar Coverage % to propose continuous improvement action plan.
  • Participate and coordinate POMS events
  • Support DM road map roll out.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by direct Manager

Responsibility 4: Integrated Management system (IMS)

  • Manage/Update all documents regarding engineering changes (work instruction, standard work, PY list, ID card, Flowchart, PFMEA, Control plan)
  • Within his/her scope of responsibility, respects the standards and rules in terms of Quality, Safety and Environment contributing to the IMS process management and improvement systems (e.g. for quality: Knows the 6 « Quality Basics » and the escalation & reaction rules).

Responsibility 5: Safety and Compliance

  • To Manage and control the safety officers who are under your supervision (you are safety officer in management level).
  • To propose to the employer an action plan on health, safety and environment in your area of responsibility.
  • To promote, support and follow-up the performance of Health, Safety and Environment in order to implement the action plan on health, safety and environment at the workplace.
  • To supervise, control, follow-up and resolve any gaps to health, safety and environment standard reported by the employees or by a safety officer, the committee, or the EHS department.
  • Employee has authority to stop machines immediately in case of risk of accident or unsafe condition
  • To work strictly in compliance with the health, safety, and environmental management system (ISO14001 & ISO45001).
