Freeport-McMoRan Inc. seeks a Technical Expert Geology to deliver leadership in geological modelling and ore body knowledge for Grasberg’s underground operations.

The role requires deep expertise in structural geology, 3D modelling, and cross-functional collaboration with design and engineering teams. Ideal candidates will have a geology or earth science degree with at least ten years in underground mining geology, fluency in English, and willingness to learn Bahasa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering or Earth Science, or acceptable tertiary qualifications, with at least ten (10) years of working experience in the application of geology to underground mining.
• Fluent in English (oral and written) and willing to learn Bahasa.
• Preferred qualifications include fifteen (15) years of experience and professional registration.

Responsabilités

• Provide technical leadership in geology to PTFI’s mines.
• Develop reliable geological models, structural interpretation and domain definitions for mine design and ground support.
• Own geological data quality across drilling, core logging, mapping, sampling and QA/QC.
• Support Grasberg Underground Operations with expert geological advice.
• Assist in developing partnerships with drilling contractors, labs and geological technology vendors.
• Mentor national staff to build capacity and ensure knowledge transfer.
