EthBerry is seeking a senior backend engineer to design and deliver production AI-agent and retrieval systems. You will own the complete engineering lifecycle, from clarifying client workflows to deployable, observable products, collaborating with delivery specialists, engineers, and clients to turn ambiguity into reliable systems.

You will design multi-step LLM workflows in TypeScript/Node.js, build retrieval pipelines, and implement robust backends with NestJS and PostgreSQL, while ensuring

Qualificações

• 5+ years building production backend or full-stack software.
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js, including API design, async programming, testing, and production debugging.
• At least one substantial LLM/agent/tool-calling or production RAG system beyond prototype.
• Experience with tool/function calling and either agent orchestration or retrieval.
• Strong PostgreSQL, SQL, and data modelling skills.
• Ability to explain failure modes (hallucination, grounding, latency, cost, security).
• Production ownership including CI/CD, monitoring, incident investigation, and incremental delivery.
• Strong written and spoken English for client and team communication.

Responsabilidades

• Design and deliver production agents and multi-step LLM workflows in TypeScript/Node.js.
• Define reliable tool contracts, outputs, retries, timeouts, and escalation boundaries.
• Build retrieval pipelines: ingestion, chunking, embeddings, indexing, retrieval, reranking, grounding, citations.
• Develop backend APIs/services with NestJS and PostgreSQL.
• Create evaluation datasets and automated checks for correctness and performance.
• Instrument traces, logs, metrics, token usage, and model costs.
• Investigate production failures and improve prompts, retrieval, tools, and orchestration.
• Integrate model providers behind stable interfaces and handle provider changes.
• Participate in client discovery, explain trade-offs, estimate work, deliver increments.
• Review human- and AI-generated code to engineering standards.
