Job summary

Nature seeks a Sustainability Specialist to strengthen its Sustainability Advisory Services in Indonesia. The role focuses on carbon assessments, climate accounts, and verification audits for agriculture and forestry sectors, with emphasis on delivering credible climate strategies and net-zero targets.

You will collaborate with global teams to develop traceability, risk analyses, and AFOLU projects, while growing the SER pipeline in the region.

Qualifications

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Climate Accounting, Life Cycle Assessment, Forestry, Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Sustainability, or related field.
• At least five years of professional experience in agriculture, forestry, financial institutions, certification, sustainability reporting, or ESG.
• Experience applying greenhouse gas accounting standards and methodologies in projects.
• Experience leading forest audits under established standards such as FSC FM, RSPO P&C, or carbon/climate accounting standards.
• Familiar with GHG emissions calculation methodologies used in the AFOLU sector.
• Experience developing carbon projects in the AFOLU sector.
• Developed models in LCA software for calculating potential greenhouse gas emissions.
• Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills across cultures and time zones.

Responsibilities

• Conduct carbon assessments, climate account development, and verification audits for clients in agriculture, forestry, and related sectors.
• Support clients in developing and implementing climate strategies aligned with the SBTi framework and net zero targets.
• Engage client supply chains to develop traceability, perform risk assessments, and conduct gap analyses.
• Contribute to carbon project development in the AFOLU sector, including methodology development and PDD preparation.
• Contribute to proposals, budgets, and sales meetings, supporting SER pipeline growth in Indonesia.
• Develop and refine internal tools, audit standards, and bespoke verification programmes.
• Independently manage client portfolios across sustainability advisory, auditing, and carbon project services from scoping to delivery.
• Lead development or substantially contribute to at least one AFOLU carbon project including methodology or PDD work.
• Share knowledge, contribute to methodology development, and support growth of sustainability services in the region.
