Job summary

McDermott International, Ltd seeks a Structural Welding QC Inspector to verify welding and fabrication standard compliance against project specs. You will inspect welds, fit-up, and materials, coordinate with NDT, and support timely issue resolution on offshore projects.

The role demands experience with welding procedures, inspection standards, and quality documentation, working closely with multidisciplinary teams on complex structures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant Quality Control/welding inspection experience with a degree, or 8+ years with a diploma.
• Certification such as CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector or equivalent where required by the project.
• Knowledge of welding codes/standards (AWS D1.1, ISO 5817, ASME) and ITPs.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection and surveillance of structural fabrication, fit-up, welding, and erection activities per drawings, ITPs, WPSs, and project requirements.
• Verify material identification, traceability, dimensions, joint preparation, fit-up, alignment, welding parameters, and workmanship at inspection stages.
• Confirm WPS/PQR and approved welding procedures are available and implemented during production.
• Perform visual inspection of welds and ensure compliance with acceptance criteria before release for NDT or further work.
• Coordinate required NDT activities and review results to support inspection release per ITP and project needs.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation; interface with Construction/Production, Welding Engineering, NDT, and client reps.
