Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or related discipline; Master’s preferred.
• Proven track record leading R&D teams and delivering innovative food products to market.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality systems (HACCP, ISO 22000, etc.).
• Expertise in food product formulation, testing methodologies and analytical techniques.
• Experience in project management and budget allocation for R&D initiatives.

About the role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Research & Development Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a strategic leadership position that will play a crucial role in driving innovation and product development for PT. Lasallefood Indonesia. As Senior Research & Development Manager, you will oversee the entire R&D function, lead a team of researchers and development specialists, and ensure that our products remain at the forefront of industry standards. You will be responsible for translating market insights into innovative food products that deliver exceptional value to our customers whilst maintaining rigorous quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement R&D strategy aligned with company objectives and market trends in the food industry.
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for new product innovation and improvement.
• Ensure all R&D activities comply with food safety regulations, quality standards and industry best practices
• Manage R&D budgets, resources and project timelines effectively.
• Collaborate with marketing, operations, and sales teams to understand market requirements and translate them into product specifications.
• Lead cross-functional teams on product innovation projects and initiatives.
• Monitor emerging food technologies, ingredients and consumer trends to maintain competitive advantage.
• Present findings, recommendations and progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain relationships with external research institutions, suppliers and industry partners.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related discipline; Master's degree is preferred.
• Proven track record of successfully leading R&D teams and delivering innovative food products to market.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, quality assurance systems and industry standards (such as HACCP, ISO 22000, or equivalent).
• Expertise in food product formulation, testing methodologies and analytical techniques.
• Experience in project management and budget allocation for R&D initiatives.
• Excellent understanding of the Indonesian food market and consumer preferences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
• Leadership capabilities including team building, mentoring and motivating staff.
• Fluency in Indonesian and English (both written and spoken).
• Experience with food industry trends, new ingredient development and emerging technologies is highly valued.
