Job summary

Shippit is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to set direction and provide technical leadership across its AWS cloud platform. You will work with software and data engineers and product teams to simplify and scale technology, driving cross-team adoption and accelerating product delivery.

You will shape the future of Shippit's platform, improving reliability, performance, security, and the developer experience while ensuring investments deliver business value.

Qualifications

• Experience owning core AWS services (VPC, EC2, IAM) in production.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Experience delivering a containerised platform in production on a public cloud.
• Working knowledge of GitOps tooling such as Argo CD or Flux CD, with declarative deployment workflows.
• Proven experience managing a multi-account AWS environment.
• Demonstrable experience delivering cloud-native architecture balancing availability, reliability, security and cost.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate internal platform as a service for product and engineering teams.
• Drive adoption and simplification of technology choices to deliver value.
• Design and implement IaC solutions that build and scale the AWS platform.
• Contribute to ADRs and RFCs for the cloud platform and act as roaming solutions architect.
• Embed best practices, continuous improvement, technical excellence and bias for action.
• Provide production support, root cause analysis and post-mortems.
