An established industry player is seeking a skilled mold maker to design and improve molds. In this role, you will lead teams in assembling molds, operate advanced machinery, and collaborate with engineers to ensure designs meet specifications. With a focus on problem-solving, you will address molding issues and maintain accurate documentation. Design 3D Mold and review 2D Drawing Mold.
Making the BOM (Bill of material) with appropriate material.
Lead teams to assemble and disassemble molds, repair and maintenance molds.
Coordinate with mold-making machinery (i.e. mills, lathes, EDM, surface grinding etc.)
Collaborate with molding engineers, process engineers, and other divisions to ensure the mold design meets the requirements.
Making project timeline and ensure meeting the deadline.
Determining the sequence of machine operations, etc.
Investigate molding problems and offer suggestions on how to improve mold designs.
Document and maintain accurate records of mold specifications, modifications, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Works independently with little supervision.
Minimum Diploma degree majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Metal Fabrication, Tool & Die/Welding.
Has experience as a journeyman mold maker of at least more than 5 years in the construction of molds.
Must be an expert in designing molds with two plates and three plates.
Must be skilled at operating various types of mold-making equipment and machinery, including milling machines, lathes, grinders, EDM machines, CNC machines, etc.
Must have a thorough knowledge of the principles of operation of mold-making tools, machining methods, typical mold tooling materials, sliders, cold/hot runner systems, and unscrewing systems.
Good knowledge of plastic material.
Familiar with 3D software and plastic flow analysis software.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities to identify and resolve mold-related issues.
