Job description

The Senior Merchandiser will serve as the key liaison for communication and interaction with our Brands and Vendors. Operate as the vendor-specific contact for planning and managing business with WSI’s Sourcing & Product Development Team. Directly responsible for managing development progress with related vendors. Track seasonal new developments until the first production shipment. Collaborate with Furniture Engineers and QA to ensure samples are ready as planned and meet standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for product development for specific vendors.
  • Establish a business and technical rapport with vendors.
  • Collaborate with Engineers, QA, SCO, and Testing/Lab on new developments for vendors.
  • Translate specs and target costs to meet vendor capabilities.
  • Analyze costing and present viable options to the Product Development manager.
  • Manage and monitor brands’ calendars and create specific timelines.
  • Manage vendor visits and provide updated reports.
  • Follow up on outstanding issues with vendors and brands.
  • Update the Product Development database and distribute weekly logs, newness reports, and other relevant reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB HOLDER’S COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5+ years sourcing/merchandising experience, especially in furniture.
  • Ability to collaborate with the team and work independently while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Strong follow-up skills, sense of ownership, and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication with stakeholders across different time zones and timely responses.
  • Proficiency in English and Indonesian, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with overlapping seasonal calendars.
  • Ability to influence internal and external partners to deliver results.
  • Ability to uphold WSI standards and expectations.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
