Senior Manager Finance (Placement in Batam, Indonesia)
The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of finance and accounting functions related to factory and product costing for the HQ Company, ensuring accurate and comprehensive financial reporting and analysis.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Oversee the HQ Company’s day-to-day accounting and finance activities, focusing on accurate and timely factory and product costing.
- Lead the monthly closing of accounts, ensuring the timely preparation and submission of comprehensive cost reports and analysis.
- Manage the costing process, including standard costing, variance analysis, and cost allocation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial reporting standards.
- Conduct detailed product costing, including bill of materials (BOM), labor, overhead, and other manufacturing costs, to support pricing and profitability analysis.
- Monitor and analyze production costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities and areas for efficiency improvements.
- Spearhead and coordinate the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts related to factory and product costs.
- Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, policies, and internal controls related to factory and product costing.
- Supervise the inventory management function, ensuring accurate cost valuation and reporting.
- Collaborate with the production, supply chain, and engineering teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
- Deep understanding of CapEx and OpEx management in plant operations.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, legal counsel, bankers, corporate secretaries, and relevant government authorities locally to ensure compliance and address costing-related financial reporting matters.
- Perform any other duties assigned from time to time, with a focus on enhancing factory and product costing processes and outputs.
Qualifications & Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills, Knowledge, Etc)
- Degree in Accountancy or equivalent from a reputable university
- Preferably with CA qualification
- More than 5 years of relevant and practical experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on factory and product costing.
- Ability to question and challenge cost assumptions, project rationales, and ROI projections.
- Comfortable with asking “why” and “what if” to uncover inefficiencies or flawed justifications.
- Experience in working with supply chain, operations, and procurement teams to validate forecasts and inventory decisions.
